LETS TALK: Red Light, Green Light, Real Life

How many of us are familiar with the childhood game "Red light, Green Light?"  My guess is quite a few. But just in case we have a reader who has not played, allow me to give a brief overview (if you don't want game details, please skip to the next paragraph).  The game is played with a group of people (4+) with one person from the group standing on one end of the room, acting as the stoplight, while yelling out the colors green, yellow or red.  The remaining people on the opposite side are to act like cars moving fast when hearing green, moving slow when hearing yellow and to stop completely when hearing red. The objective is to touch or get to the person on the other side of the room first. If you didn't stop on red or slow down on yellow, you were sent back to the start, making you further away from the "stoplight" or objective, and ultimately putting you in last place.

Life is like "Red Light, Green Light." There are objectives, goals and visions that we want to accomplish, but if we don't listen to a voice that is bigger than ours, we sometimes may have to start back at the beginning of journey to reach those goals.  It should be noted that in the game, the lights of red, green and yellow never stayed on the same color long, nor were 2 colors ever called at the same time. In life when you need to stop and take a break, do it. If you need to slow down, do it ... and on the flip side, if your life is giving you the okay to continue, Go! Don't procrastinate; you may not have the same opportunity the next time around.

The Moral of the Story: Never Stop on green lights in your life, don't speed through yellow lights and if life gives you a red light, stop, reflect and think. It will turn green again!

If you feel stuck at a red light in your life,
there may be a reason
Come TALK IT OUT with us
